I followed Candy to the Crocs Warehouse Sales @ Digi Subscribers Preview yesterday at Level 2 Ikano Power Centre (empty hall near the IT centre). The discount is up to 70% (for most old seasons) and an additional 5% more if you're a Digi Subscriber. Granted yesterday was the best time to haul back some crocs because of the extra 5% discount for Digi subscribers. Newer designs were about RM90 each while the cheapest was RM40 (majority old season sandals/crocs). Jibbitz were going for RM10 (the buttons for crocs hole decoration?) but mostly star wars and hello kitty ones were gone. I manage to buy one packet rm10! (inside 4 hello kitty buttons).

SORRY!!! I only knew about it yesterday when I follow Candy to the sales and I couldn't get hold of a computer as I was attending events at Pavilion from morning till evening. Since it's been advertised only starting on today, I dare not give out any info in fear of misleading readers about this sale. Prices starts from RM40-RM90 (or more) the Digi 5% discount was only for yesterday's Digi customer's preview sale. I heard there's a long waiting Q to get in today and lotsa people around. The UOB Credit Card sharks are there too, say NO if you're not interested and just go off. Colors are limited and there's crocs for women, men and children. There's a variety of sizes but mostly size 7 out of stock (one of my reader says). Today I heard they're restocking.

All I can say is I am quite happy to have paid RM38 for a pair of crocs. Even without the 5% discount I would still pay RM40 for a crocs! they're long lasting and easy to clean and care. While some are ugly looking or weird, there's normal looking ones to choose from which may be cute as well! Anyway Crocs are expensive! and since there's a sale, I bought my family Crocs to wear! 10 pairs for RM399 (10 pairs normally would cost u rm1.3k over!).

Head over to Parkson Pavilion girls! there's a campaign going on called ASCENT Find Your Perfume Personality from 29th April to 5th May (Level 3 Parkson Pavilion) to find the perfect perfume for your personality. I was just there this morning for the launching and it was quite interesting finding out which scents suited my personality via a ipod program whereby you select the images, sounds and scents that reveal the real you.

So yeah I choose the images that I like the most or felt that was me. They even let u listen to the types of music available and you have to choose one that rocks you. After a series of images, the final step would reveal which perfume personality you fall under - Casual, Sophisticated or Seductive? I got Casual and Sophisticated, so Betty (remember her from KLCC Parkson!) whipped out 2 different scented samples for me to smell. One of them was casual and the other sophisticated.

I was more attracted to the casual scent which kinda smelled like apples, fresh yummy apples. Then suddenly Betty revealed to me that my perfume personality= DKNY's Be Delicious Green Apple! (OMG I love the green apple perfume!!! XD luv luv). It's fun! Buaya Wing said this is like remember when we use to fill up questionnaires from teen magazines (usually very girly and full of pictures of hearts and stuffs) to find out which perfume suit us, or which personality are we (after calculating the points). DO you remember there's even one where we can find out which guys suit us? (lol).

I collected my prize from Guardian Mid Valley (lg) yesterday after Laneige's Mother's Day workshop. The SA was friendly and informative ^_^ thx IDI Italy 1858~!

While generally I have combination skin (dry with oily T-zone) and look good from far, if you use a telescope on my face, you'll notice I have redness, blemishes, pigmentations and itchy from external aggravators (hot, sun, pollution, dirty, etc) and sometimes I can't use products that's overly "chemical" or containing active ingredients. It'll be too harsh for my skin, I feel tingling sensations when this happened, and it turns to burning sensation if I don't wash it off. The weather is another factor, my face get red, itchy and red patches will appear around my eyes and cheeks. This was seen by Julianna (the nutritionist for IDI Italy who interview me for the campaign) on the day I arrived at their office for interview. My entry photo didn't do my justice!

Then I was assigned to the sensitive care range products to use for 3 months. Generally their products are dermatologically tested at pharmaceutical quality standard that's prescribed to more than 100,000 patients every year! yeap it started in 1858 at the Italian Dermatologi Institute, set up by a team of doctors and medical scientists. 3 Hospitals 1 University! I find that their products are creamy, colorless and odorless (well no perfumes!). I have a few favourites! the Lightening cream (for pigmentation), the Conditioning Lotion & Cleansing Milk (great combo) and the Tri-Action Defender Cream which is my BB cream!

after 3 months, my skin is not only smiling!

My skin now knows what's sensitive skincare products! it's an amazing journey to discovering what works for me. I have tried so many products and this by far is the most suitable for me. My redness and itching has decreased, and I find myself just applying it and the redness will be gone instantly. My pigmentations has also lighten (after 3 weeks of using the lightening cream) and I find myself using it for my whole face too. I just wish that this won't end and I have more to say in my upcoming blogs on the products! just stay tune!

The Burt's Bees Workshop today started off with a Yogataal session by Candi Soo Fitness. We were not expecting a yoga so soon into the workshop! but it was a great way to start the blood pumping and fresh breath of air beside the beautiful pool at Royale Bintang Hotel, Mutiara Damansara. To sum it up for now as my camera passed out on me due to me forgetting to feed it food for a few days (mygawd I better don't own any pets). The workshop was a great fun! especially since I met so many of my readers there. It was well organized, not boring thanks to Jo the speaker who introduced Burt's Bees and it's goodness to us via a video presentation, easy to understand introduction to the natural products and world of Burt's Bees, a prize Q&A session and a fun DIY skincare mask session for everyone to participate in.

Bobbi Brown Cosmetics Pretty Powerful

Bobbi Brown is one of the sponsors who participated in this workshop. Their training manager Carina, introduces Bobbi Brown's latest campaign "Pretty Powerful" whereby Bobbi Brown had a contest to seek out 15 people who showed Bobbi Brown how they became from feeling pretty to pretty powerful with Bobbi Brown cosmetics. I LOVE LOVE THIS VIDEO I love the girls and their makeovers. They don't need a full/dramatic makeover to look pretty as they're already pretty beautiful (and became more beautiful with cosmetics). After this video, a makeup demo was done on Chingy (err spelling unknown) PR for Burt's Bees. We could see how a simple cream blusher gave her a younger and fresh look (like a teenage girl in love). Everyone can have a mini makeover after the workshop ended (but the Q was too long, so I didn't stay for it).

Before the workshop come to and end, lucky draws prizes were given! almost everyone went home with a prize! Candi Soo sponsored 5 fitness prizes, Bobbi Brown sponsored 5 hampers worth RM350 and Burt's Bee also sponsored 5 lucky draw prizes (apart from Q&A prizes). Everyone walked home a winner even if they didn't win anything coz the GOODIE BAG made everyone feel like a winner!

Thank you Burt's Bees for such a wonderful workshop and generous in the prizes and goodie bag! We ate light refreshments in the morning after Yogataal with cool honey lemon drinks and then had a HOTEL LUNCH BUFFET at Royale Bintang Hotel's cafe. For the amount I paid (RM30) I regretted not bringing my mom & sister to experience all the goodness and Burt's Bees!

Today I followed Buaya Wing to KLCC coz she had to attend her KLCC Fashionista Mac Workshop at 7pm. We left One Utama roughly 6.15pm took the shortcut "penchala link" paid rm2 for toll charges and zoomed our way to KL City. While she was there, I decided to visit the Chanel Roadshow which is just outside of Mac Cosmetics boutique. Lots of people there! lThe previous Isetan newsletter allows IMC/ICC members to redeem a free Chanel Chance 2ml perfume vial limited for the first 100 only while the latest newsletter allows the first 50? or 100 (can't remember) to redeem a Chanel Coco rouge sampler during the Chanel Roadshow from 21-27 April.

The Chanel Coco Rouge sampler is a cardboard sampling card with 4 circles of lipshades on it. At the side is a mini lip brush so you can use it on the circles for application. The Chanel Chance perfume smells really nice! but it's also pricey! 50ml for rm222 and 100ml for rm332.

Chanel Coco Rouge lipstick is going for RM95 and with the roadshow promotion, you get a limited edition badge, a lip makeover, and Chanel surprises (as stated on the promotional postcard at the venue). I bought one as a mother's day gift but I was not offered any lip makeover (nvm, don't need it). The Chanel badge has various design to choose from but the limited edition designs (with lip kiss prints) are going off fast. As a Isetan member, you also get double points for your Chanel purchases during this time. I suggest buying something else so u can get free 2 hour carpark from Isetan.

I was given the chance to review Kiehl's Ultra Light Daily UV Defense last month and finally after 3 weeks, I could share my thoughts on this product with everyone here. Before I go on, I would like to ask what the hell is going on with our weather? I wish the weather was like 20 years ago where I could live happily without putting on sunscreen and prancing here and there thinking "neh sunscreen/blocks/etc are too oily! forget it!". Yes I am a person who hates dislikes putting on heavy/creamy scented products on my face (e.g sunblock). Even 10 years ago I was still not worried about sunscreen until one day I woke up...

DANGERS OF UVA UVB

Well those were the days right? coz now whenever we step out of our cave, the sun comes greeting on you in the face (and everywhere else) frying you like a microwave (slowly). Seriously, look at my arms? they look like they belong to someone else! My face? Don't talk about my face, I'm trying not to remember that I have freckles and brown spots invasion (so they can miraculously go away).

The dangers of the UVA & UVB from the sun is a HARSH REALITY especially for us girls (who cares about the guys as long we're the prettier ones right?). We're talking about age spots, brown spots, all kinda spots and not to mention wrinkles, fine lines, & turning into a baked turkey. Is There A Cure?

I read that if you start to use sunscreen daily 90% of skin aging can be prevented!* (Skin Cancer Foundation). There's no miracle product to cure browns spots/aging/pigmentation but there are products where u can minimize and lighten. Even after that there is still one thing we should do, which is to protect and prevent! Like the saying goes "Prevention is Better than Cure". I have been using the Kiehl's Ultra Light Daily UV Defense with SPF 50 PA+++ UVA which is great for me as I am needed to work under the sun in the City most of the time. The previous sunblock I used is just a face moisturizer with SPF30 enough for indoors but not outdoors.

TEXTURE & COLOR

The product description says that besides being a powerful ultra light sunscreen with antioxidants for maximum protection it's also PABA FREE, FRAGRANCE FREE, COLOR FREE and OIL FREE. I have got to say that I love the texture of this sunscreen, it's light and easy to apply, best of all it's not making me uncomfortable. Now don't get me wrong, it's not totally "can't feel I have sunscreen on" but it is ultra light compared to most SPF 50 PA+++ sunscreens. It's not oily nor greasy but can be a bit sticky which is not a problem after dusting on loose powders. In fact what I did was after my toner and lightening spot cream, I used it as a moisturizer @ face primer for my make up (thanks to the Glycerin ingredient) giving me an matte finish. Since it's colorless, I don't have to worry my face turning a slight zombie-ish (some of the sunscreens I use turns cakey/whitish).

SCENT & SENSIBILITY

The fact that there's no chemical scent (that usually comes from a sunscreen) is great because the scent reminds me that I have a thick sunscreen on. Another good point is that it has VITAMIN E. VITAMIN E has many benefits for our skin, including anti-aging, antioxidant, protection against UV the list goes on. Slapping on sunscreen is not just a form of protection anymore now. Then there was this one part that says it's suitable for even sensitive skin (me) and so far it doesn't sting or cause any redness to my face from using it for 3 weeks.

The packaging is also cute and portable friendly. I slip it in my bag and carry it to work. However the price is a bit too steep for me RM140 for a 30ml sunscreen, those who don't mind a thick/creamy sunscreen can get one from the pharmacy for less than RM30.

I asked for a few weeks already and the samples is not ready yet for testing. I wonder if there's a lighter sunscreen product than Kiehl's Ultra Light Uv Defense. Also anyone has any reasons to why they're not using sunscreen yet? coz we really need to start using it under out BBQ Sun weather now. Don't forget to check out this product at the nearest Kiehl's store and snap pictures of Mr.Bones (or you if the SA allows) carrying/posing with the GIANT sunscreen product! I find it great to shock friends in Facebook! ahahaha these are my pictures, enjoy!
