  • Happy New Year Readers! Cheers to 2013

    12.31.2012

    drink up!!! yum seng!!! cheers!!!

Can't believe 2012 is going by in 30mins time. There's so much things to do and there's not enough time. Somehow I feel a blogger's life passed so quickly if you get immersed into attending events especially for seasonal launches. Spring comes Summer comes Autum comes Winter every 3 months. Having worked for LivingSocial for over a year, I'm now back active to blogging and yeah I really miss blogging. It's my life and I will continue to do this, just not full time because bloggers can't survive without a job. The notion that bloggers earn $$$ is just something hyped up. That being said, I wish I could just marry and stay at home, do extreme couponing and blog like 24/7. Hopefully in the year 2013? haha.

PS: I'm not drinking alcohol, I don't like alcohol. I'm just posing with Boots Cocktail Showers (body shower gels inspired by popular cocktails). The pink is Cosmopolitan (which smells really strong like medicine) and Margarita (smells like lime). I bought them from Boots Bangkok as Christmas gifts for my x-colleagues Noel & Terince because they love to drink (HAHAHA).

Pinch of Salt Card Birthday Voucher

     got my birthday RM30 e-voucher!

Woke up in the morning to read my email & big smile hit me!!! yay I received my birthday RM30 e-voucher credited into my Pinch of Salt card for my birthday! and my birthday is tomorrow so it's super good timing! Readers, I recommend you to sign up for this card for RM40 if you like dining in Italiannies or TGIF Fridays because of the 3 reasons below:

    • Members can enjoy a 10% rebate from subtotal bill
    • Instant redemption of one (1) RM40 e-voucher can be made immediately when members purchase the Pinch of Salt card
    •  One (1) RM30 birthday e-voucher will be issued two (2) weeks before the birth date and is valid for 1 month from the time of issuance

The only setback from being a member is to purchase the card from TGIF Fridays at RM40 BUT you get back your RM40 so there's no losing! The RM40 is preloaded into your card and expires in a month. It can also be redeem immediately after purchase.

watch the Pinch of Salt card video! so cute

3 reasons why you should get this card

I bought my card from Italiannies on Christmas Eve after having our super expensive dinner there. Surprisingly weird that the staff told me I can't use my rebate today (when it states on the website it's instant redemption) maybe what he meant was on festive seasons? (but didn't see any conditions saying can't be use on festive days with the exception of happy hours). Anyway I already finish my meal actually! so I didn't mind what he said haha.

Welcome to P&G VisionHouse by Plusizekitten

    12.30.2012

a recap of what happened in Bangkok

Who would ever thought I would get the chance to experience a beauty event out of Malaysia? It was the best thing that happened to me because I love Bangkok and being there to witness the future trends of the two brands that I grew up with, Pantene and Olay at their regional beauty event called the Vision House. I also got to know more about fashion hair trends from Wella, handsome men talking about Heads & Shoulders, and a lot more closer to the world of P&G Beauty.

    two days event 28th - 20th, Nov 2012

I will be sharing about my experience in a series of events, talks, interviews & insider media experience as a blogger. The best? meeting the face of Pantene's Global Ambassador, Liv Tyler was the cream of the crop. She's so beautiful, close up just like the her character Arwen in The Lord of The Rings.

welcome to the P&G Vision House

    the magnificent Sofitel So Bangkok
    tomorrow's schedule at a glance

arrival of media & guests for registration
    (yay go Malaysia media!)

your humble blogger at your service

purple soda welcome drink & toasts with Jone (P&G)

It was a 4 days 3 night experience in which I will try my best to share in my Birthday month. I shall begin like every story, my first day in Bangkok in this magnificent chapter called "Memoirs of a Geisha Blogger, the P&G Vision House experience". Stay tune!

Berjaya Times Square Season To Dazzle & Special Effects Lesson by SUB International

Sub International School of Beauty & Make Up

I wish December weren't over yet. There's just so much things to do and review! I don't have time for it all. Before 2012 ends, I want to share about the really cool make up workshop I attended last month before I went to Bangkok for a week. It was held in Berjaya Times Square, on the upper floors of the shopping mall. I didn't even know there's a make up school here. The event was to launch the Berjaya Times Square Season to Dazzle Christmas campaign where shoppers who spend a certain amount get to redeem beauty products and free makeovers by SUB International. After the beauty makeover, you can pose at the special Christmas corner to take a picture of yourself and upload online to participate in the Dazzle & Win contest.

Dazzle & Win contest to win prizes!
    26th Nov - 26th Dec, 2012

As time was running late, I could not do the makeover *sad* but I did take a quick photo of myself and joined the contest before it ends! I don't think I will win because the judging is based on your dress up and overall look. Anyway you can check the contest page here and the prizes.

back to SUB, so many cool things here!!!

    very Brooklyn like concept store

     cute make up cases

clothes, candles, make up accessories can be found here

It was kinda unique having to attend a Christmas launch by joining a make up workshop at SUB. It wasn't just the typical make up workshop I go to because today...for the first time in my life, I'm learning tips & tricks (which is real easy to do at home) to create special effects! I wish they taught us this for Halloween then I could really scare people on Facebook!!! nyah nyah nyah.

    welcome speech by Miyuki Ng

introduction to special effect make up

The workshop started with an introduction to what we will learn by Miyuki. She's a petite and cute lady who made us laugh all the way during lessons. From creating a bruised effects to making our own blood, the workshop was interesting in its own way! Luckily I took picture of the white board so I can remember how to create my own effects for next Halloween. All we need was a few items...

tepung ubi kayu, red coloring powder, water, gum & water!
(also a bowl & a brush for mixing)

     cool effects taught that day

     how to create blood effects

just mix water, starch & red coloring powder

     learning to create burn effects

and heavy burn effects using cotton

bullet holes by using cotton (make a circle)

most awesome of all, the suicide effects

useful for drama acts, but scary!

     Miyuki demonstrates the finishing look

Crazy cool right? which effects do you think is the coolest? I think we can also google online to find more effects to do at home. After the workshop, we had Christmas drinks at Starbucks and some light snacks. My blogger friends and I enjoyed chit chatting about the lessons. However we were all rush for time so we couldn't do the makeover :((( but I think they're all already pretty today! cept me who don't have make up on (well I have baby soft face make up on). Baby soft is a term for soft and flawless natural look. Most people think I don't wear make up, but actually I'm huge fan of BB cream and blusher haha!!! u just don't see me with eyeshadows because they irritate my eyes. Which is why I was so excited when I found the popular beauty blender at SUB for only RM15! bought it straight away.

we had fun! thanks Berjaya Times Square

bought a beauty blender RM15 from SUB

refreshments at Starbucks oh nom nom

I didn't realize there's so much fun shopping and redemption activities for Berjaya Times Square until I got back home. Here's a list of what I missed out T_T totally regret rushing off to another appointment! could've bought lots of things and redeem Christmas goodies from Berjaya Times Square. I dream of Haba Ion My Esthe with White Lady Serum

    12.29.2012

Haba Ion My Esthe facial machine RM498

ION-MY-ESTHE (Facial Instrument) is Haba's original facial device to penetrate Haba's star product the White Lady’s vitamin C derivatives deep into skin. A salon-like treatment can be performed at home for dramatically improved appearance of skin. 7 Features of ION MY ESTHE:-

    • Permeates White Lady’s or Lift Up Serum’s active ingredients deep into the skin.
    • The roller head, designed for a professional use is gentle to skin
    • 2 typles of skincare treatments :- Ion Care and Ion Cleasing
    • Easy to use with easy functions
    • Easily held in one hand, and weights only 86g
    • Runs on rechargeable battery, which last up to 18 hours
    • An automatic off timer function to remind proper length of treatment

Why I want the Haba Ion My Esthe & White Lady? I first heard about Haba from blogger friend Doroshi. She was preparing for her wedding and bought this facial machine and whitening product. Told me lots of good things about it, like how I don't need to go facials anymore after buying this product and how Haba is one of the top skincare brands in Japan that does not contain additives like Parabens and mineral oil. Curious, I tried White Lady and loved the results, however I was convinced that having the facial machine would give me better results and bang for my buck when I use the White Lady.

The same method is used in slimming centers like Marie France where similar machines used on our skin to make penetration of bodycare products more effective. The absorption rate is higher so our products work better. I really would like to test this out.

sadly I found out there's a new Ion My Esthe launched!

clarisonic mia from Sephora (about RM500++ ?)

I guess nevermind that a new and better machine is launched because I don't see it selling in Malaysia yet. No wonder there's so much promotions going on for this facial machine now! Check the promotions at Haba Malaysia website if you're curious to know more about it. Now you can spend RM1k and get the facial machine & face mask sheets free! (Arggghhh). Would this be better than Clarisonic Mia which is just brushes swirling on your face?

which facial machine would you go for?

ION Care – Infusing vitamin C derivatives (Twice a week)
Ion Care produces negatively charged electrical circuit (-) that repels negatively charged vitamin C derivatives (-). This creates a force to penetrate the ingredients deeper into the skin than regular skin care care.

    Expected result after ION CARE:-

    - Softer, smoother and more transparent skin with even complexion.
    - Melanin pigmentation can be controlled
    - Less breakouts and acne by cleaning and firming pores
    - Makes spots less visible by controlling melanin deposition
    - Firm skin with less visible wrinkles by enhances collagen production

ION Cleasing – Drawing out impurities > Once a week
ION CLEASING produces positively charged electrical circuit(+) that’s draw out negatively charged(-) dirt in skin

    Expected results after ION CLEASING
Skin condition can change by performing ION CLEASING once a week. It helps correct open pores and dullness, cleanse impurities and enhance absorption of skin care products used after treatment.

how to use the Ion My Esthe?

    STEP 1 – Cleansing ---> STEP 2 - ION CARE or ION CLEASING ----> STEP 3 – Moisturizing --> STEP 4 – Protection

After wash followed by ION CARE or ION CLEANSING, After using ION MY ESTHE, perform daily skincare with lotion, Squalane & etc.

    Plusizekitten Birthday TGV Movie Event

    12.28.2012

it's set we're watching a movie on my birthday

Being a movie fanatic, I thought why not watch a movie together with my beloved readers? It's been some time since I organized a movie watching session and this time I'm holding it big 45pax at TGV KLCC for a 3-hour musical where celebrities such as Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Russel Crowe and Amanda Seyfried sings in the movie. I heard they might win award as well but this movie is kinda sad and many reviewers says they cried in the end (all while trying to hold it back during the movie). As sad as it may sound, I'm sure this movie is a must watch since some critics even said it's the best musical among all the musicals movies (serious?).

    TICKETS ALL GRABBED! NO MORE!

I have 45 tickets with me and I am inviting my readers (first come first serve) to watch with me on my birthday! leave a comment with your email or fb pm me for an invite! Don't RSVP if you're not planning to come because the tickets costs me!
