  • Cres Deep Tissue Healing Massage Review

    1.23.2013

    Cres's latest massage treatment

Invited to review Cres Wellness's latest massage treatment the Deep Tissue Healing Massage. Deep tissue only means one thing, pain and I don't like painful, pokey massage where the masseuse would release your muscle tensions by strongly pressing your pressure points. BUT you know what they say, no pain no gain. Some people actually love being poke and kneaded like a dough. I was going to say no until I read the description of the treatment and that it's for deep relaxation and swift recovery. I love trying new treatments and the word deep relaxation changed my mind.

Using natural old teak wood, the muscle is firmly kneaded, rolled and pressed to reach the deep tissue of the body. Old teak wood is hard, contains natural oil and its outer cell walls are covered with silica, which can generate electromagnetic effect under pressure or heat. Thus when used as massage tool, it helps restore and rebalance the body's electromagnetic field and meridian system. Different sizes of teak wood is used on various parts of the body and maximize leverage and gravity with sliding, rolling, kneading, pivoting, levering, tapping and friction techniques to reach deep tissue on these trouble areas such as neck, shoulders, back and legs.

Using natural old teak wood to massage your body? this is something I got to try at least once so I made an appointment and head over to Cres Gardens, my usual spot :)

body scrub & shower before treatment

My masseuse explained to me what she would be doing to me during the treatment. She told me it's a really good massage treatment to promote circulation and that I do not need to worry about feeling pain. If I did feel uncomfortable, I can let her know to cut down on the pressure. I was given a small glass bowl of what seems to be a fruity scrub. Looks like the 2 hour long treatment includes a scrub and shower process! Nothing feels better than to have a nice warm shower before a body massage.

    my body treatment room

After the shower, I went back to my treatment room and got ready. My masseuse applied a deep sensual massage oil over me before using the natural old teak wood on me. Starting from my legs, she slowly massage them with the teak wood. It didn't feel painful, it felt like a real massage but only better because this time, wood is used instead of the palm of the hands. It covers a wider area of massage all together at the same time so you feel that release not on just one spot but the whole area. It was particular more evident on the back area. For the legs, it felt so wonderful to have soft firm wood pressing gently on your calves to release tension from tired legs. I couldn't see which teak wood tool she was using, there seems to be a lot from the display. Smaller wooden tools are used on the fingers and toes, while longer ones are used for the body.

Deep Sensual Massage Oil, a specialty oil for deep infiltration of the active ingredients into the deep tissue in order to stimulate and activate the detoxification process. Rich in Vitamins A, C, D and E, make it especially helpful for delicate and dry skin type.  Contained Textron Sunflower Oil rich in essential fatty acids, with the collaboration blends of pure Lemongrass and Lavender essential oil, it will helps to purify the skin in depths and restore the skin tone meanwhile promote balance and relax appearance condition.

Certain more sensitive areas like under the arm or sides, if you're not a very touchy feely person, will be painful during the massage. This is normal, if you can't take it just let the masseuse know. While this is a good session, you might notice the difference between the warm touch of a human hand caressing your body and a wooden massage tool. Nevertheless I did enjoy the session and wish it was longer (like as if 90mins is not enough).

tension in your arms & legs?

my legs enjoyed the session the most!

You might ask who is suitable or can benefit from the Deep Tissue Healing Massage? if you're someone who experience muscular pain or strain, high heels syndrome (stress calfs), migraines, or just needed to release some body tension, you can try this massage treatment for a change. 6. Premature ejaculation is a serious issue worldwide with over 40
% of males suffering from this problem. The commonly used missionary position, with the man on top and thrusting deeply, provides
a very high degree of sensory stimulation to the penis and often leads to rapid ejaculation.
I found this really good at relaxing the urge to ejaculate.

    7. I have heard a lot about the method to have relief from pain and inflamation but I have also heard that it is quite painful aswell bacause when they put pressure on the tissues so a new layer of pain arises. I am sure that a qualified chiropractor knows the techniques as well.
