  • SocialSync: Chilling Out with Canon

    9.13.2014

guess what I do other than blog?

What happens when you get an opportunity to showcase your work of art with Canon Malaysia at Canon's 'SocialSync: Chilling Out With Canon', an event set in the morning filled with fun and connectivity with Canon's latest cameras and technology?. You take the leap and show the world what you can do.

That's exactly what I did and with the help of the fantastic Canon Selphy CP910 (I owned CP900 as well) I printed out pictures and made scrapbooks to showcase at the event. I also taught the basics of how to start your very own scrapbook to the media should they be interested to own a Canon Selphy CP910 to start their journaling their memories down.

Suddenly I become a scrapbook guru and it all started with the Canon Selphy CP900. My first purchase t0 start my scrapbooking hobby (2011).

2015 IKEA Catalogue Makes You Smile

    9.09.2014

Last week I received an e-mail from Ikea Malaysia asking if I would be interested to receive their latest catalogue. Bewildered, I asked what's the difference between me being a member (yes I am a Ikea member) receiving the new catalogue vs receiving it as a blogger?. Ikea told me this is something new and I would be the first few to receive the limited copies as a beta tester.

beta tester? *scratch head* alright. This is intriguing enough. Sent it over :)

Ding dong, the courier was at my couple of days later. He took out a big parcel and asked when did Ikea started sending parcels? I shrugged, no idea.

    the latest 2015 IKEA catalogue

I tore open the parcel and I thought Ikea sent me a Macbook or something. It was a white box, the kind you get you when purchase something from Apple. The 2015 IKEA Catalogue, the power of a book. Ikea has definitely gotten my attention. What a clever way to bring back books by injecting it with a cover of a daunting technology that would not fail when you have:
    • no electricity, because it has eternal battery life *lol*
    • nothing to install, it's all pre-installed with thousands of home furnishing ideas in HD pages
    • original touch interface, touch and drag to browse
    • no lag, instant page load
    • won't break if you drop it from virtually any height
LOL. Definitely had a hoot of a time browsing the manual and being reminded of the beauty of having an unbreakable technology in my hands. Got to give it to the people at Ikea *clap clap*. I enjoyed being their beta tester so yes thank you Ikea for sending me your latest technology, the BookBookTM.

Men are like Cosmetic Brands on Dating Apps

    9.08.2014

tinder is fast becoming one of the hottest dating app
    (thanks to Comedian Badboi JenHan)

Has anyone gone into dating apps? (Tinder, Skout, Paktor, etc). It's like the hottest trend now for anyone who's single (and well some married and attached ones as well which I wonder, what are their intentions?). I thought I start writing about my research on these apps and comparing it with make up. If men were like make up,  you would come across with:

    A: Imitations from the street
    B: Drugstore / Pharmacy brands
    C: Luxury line

The imitations would put on an act as the perfect or "nice" guy and majority are Casanovas (players). They look like the real thing but they aren't. They lie about their status (rship/work/age/etc), pretend to be of a certain personality and about their intentions. In the end all you get is "cheap" make up which leaves you with a really bad breakout. Usually really good advertisement but look out for the fine print. May be for illustration purposes only.

Drugstore brands on the other hand are normal guys out there, genuinely looking for friendship or relationship. Like drugstore brands, they are simple, guy next door dudes suitable for the mass public. However they pretty much can't stand out with so many competition in the app just like deciding which lip balm you would want to buy at Guardian. You know there's so many, each with it's own benefits or lack of.

The luxury brands, or as we girls call it "atas" brands are of course what every girl would want but let's be realistic okay. Luxury brands are expensive, there's no big slash off prices unless you go to the warehouse sales, where they're out of season and about to expire. These men would never be found on the dating apps unless they are married or out there looking for "fun" to pass time. Normally good looking, successful or powerful. If they are looking for love on dating apps, it's just marketing strategy to find the one who would like them for who they really are.

Well that's what I think. What do you think? (if you have tried dating apps).

    A New Chapter

    9.05.2014

Today, while I was walkinglimping from my favorite cafe to the home that I will be saying goodbye to (yes I am moving to another place) someone called my name out. Surprised I turn to look and didn't recall if I know her. My memory these days has been shady, affected by the recent turn of events this year from losing my beloved iphone, to injuring my knee which caused me months of precious time; work wise and as a blogger (can't attend all the events or focus on reviewing anything), to the biggest disappointment of the year. Well I guess it all turned out for the better, just like the quote "Every cloud has a silver lining."

we can't stop, an inspiring song dedicated to the new me

As I start a new chapter in my life, my knee is smiling at me saying "Let's rock this together". I'll be moving to a new place, staying with housemates for the first time and enjoying what life has to offer from the emotional prison that I was in for years.

The lady who said hello to me, asked me how my knee was (surprise of my life). She works at the tadika few houses away from me. A blog reader, who reminded me, hey... you have friends even when you don't realize they are there. Reading.

    Thank you. I am back.
