  • Sunscreen That Turns Into Water! It's Real

    9.28.2017

Ultra Hydro Sun Essence SPF50+ PA+++

Recently something landed on my table and blew my mind away. Like literally if I could show you special effects, it'll be like a slow-mo of sparks and glitter gushing out from my face. What could have done this? This innovative sunscreen from Korea that's super lightweight and when applied it turns into water and you don't even feel like you're wearing sun protection! Okay, maybe I'm being overly dramatic here but seriously, if anyone has tried this and feels the same, please tell me if the feelings are mutual.

Okay, drama over, it's called the Ultra Hydro Sun Essence SPF50+ PA+++ 30ml made from "clear glistening moisture energy from the deep ocean". That's the 61% Hawaiian Kona deep ocean water along with 30 kinds of ocean plant extracts and 45 kinds of plant extracts.

sun protection + basic care at the same time

    What Is It For?
UV Protection, Whitening, Anti-ageing. It protects against UVA and UVB without the greasy, oily, heavy feeling. It has moisturising and calming effects so it's suitable for sensitive skin types thanks to the almost all natural hypoallergenic ingredients that and two soothing ingredients Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract and Nymphaea Alba Flower Extract.

    Main Ingredients:
Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Nymphaea Alba Flower Extract, Sea Water, Usnea Barbata (Lichen) Extract.

    * 7 Free:
Free from Paraben, Phenoxyethanol, Triethanolamine, Mineral oil, Artificial flavouring agents, Artificial colours, Benzophenone.

    How To Use:
Apply an appropriate amount onto face and pat lightly.
Tip: Recommend to do a proper patch test, if you have an allergy or any other unusual symptoms.

    Packaging:
It's a hand-held, travel-friendly size, easy to bring anywhere you want. It's made of plastic with a reflective silver cap which can double as an emergency mirror if you need to apply sunscreen on the go! (though not clear, but you can still see where you're applying it on). To use, you'll need to twist the cap open, to reveal the anti-spill head. Apply pressure by squeezing the body and the fluid will be forced out. Pretty neat, if you don't like your product spilling during travel or handbag accidents.

    Texture:
It's an orange juice looking colour liquid which turns into water upon application on the skin. This is the part where you'll be surprised because the moment you apply it on your skin, it becomes clear and water. Finally, when this settles, it becomes a protective barrier.

    Scent:
It has the usual sunblock scent, slightly citrusy but not overpowering.

anti-spill design, easy to carry and no worries of spilling

turns into water when applied on the skin

see the glistering water, it's no joke!

I give this a 5 star and into my travel bag!

This is definitely one sunscreen that I'm holding onto until I find another awesome sunscreen product! I love that it's lightweight and easy to apply, the coverage is good since it becomes watery so it can cover the surface much better and faster than cream type sunblock. There's no white cast, but the protective layer or barrier on my skin feels soft and hydrated. You can use this as a primer before your base makeup. Another reason I like this is that it's made of so many types of plant and marine extracts. By far the most natural based sunscreen I've used and it has the 7 Nos - No Paraben, artificial pigment, mineral oil, Benzophenone, Talc, Benzyl Alcohol, Sulfate. Safe and clinical proven.

The Vella Ultra Hydro Sun Essence is available through Althea Korea at only RM58.
