    The Penguins of Madagascar

I haven't been to GSC for the longest time and when an invitation to go watch The Penguins of Madagascar by Randy, I say why not. It's not just any cinema hall too because Randy has bought tickets for the D-Box! I wanted to try D-Box ever since I heard about it. Only two GSC cinemas halls has this - Pavilion KL and 1Utama (Hall 3). D-Box is like those theme park 5D or 6D motion seats that enhances your cinematic experience like real. The difference is when you watch D-Box at GSC, it's not going to be 30mins or less. It's going to be the full length of the movie!.
Plucky penguins Skipper (Tom McGrath), Kowalski (Chris Miller), Rico (Conrad Vernon) and Private (Christopher Knights) -- the most elite spies ever hatched -- join forces with a chic undercover organization known as the North Wind. Led by highly trained, handsome and arrogant Agent Classified (Benedict Cumberbatch), this special inter-species task force must stop a many-tentacled villain, Dr. Octavius Brine (John Malkovich), from destroying the world.

     Hall 3 at GSC 1Utama features D-Box

    What's D-Box?

After sound and image, D-BOX adds magic to films by introducing a new experience: immersive motion. Moviegoers will live the action just as if they were part of the scene that is occurring onscreen.

D-BOX’s technology is leading edge. After sound and image, D-BOX is the natural evolution of cinema. Much like a movie soundtrack, motion effects are created frame-by-frame by their Motion Designers in their California Studio creating the unique patented D-BOX Motion Code.

The signal is then sent to the actuators that act like little robots under your seat. D-BOX is smooth and blends perfectly with the sound and image to make your cinematic experience complete. Its motion is multilevel; it can allow you to feel the intensity as if you were speeding in a car chase or let you feel the subtle movements as if you were by the ocean, feeling the relaxing waves.

The result is an unmatched immersive experience: you will feel as if you are part of the onscreen action taking place right before your eyes.

laughing like made with the penguins

state of the art motion seats that shakes!!!
    (macam massage chair haha)

control the intensity level by adjusting the + or - button (beside your chair)

I laughed my way through the movie. The Penguins of Madagascar is really funny! Skipper, Ricco, Kowalski and Private went on this spy journey and have a face off with another spy fanatic team called the North Wind. The evil character this time is Dave a purple octopus with a vengeance for cute penguins. Children will love this movie I tell you!.

Thursday movie night with the guys

My verdict about D-Box? It takes some time to get used to watching movies with your chair moving. Almost felt like someone is kicking you from the behind. However once you get used to knowing it's not someone kicking you, you'll enjoy the kick-ass motions coupled by the adventurous scenes of the movie.

D-Box tickets costs RM34 each at GSC Pavilion KL and GSC 1Utama. Not all seats are D-Box. There's only a total of 57 D-Box seats in GSC. Very limited so purchase your D-Box seats early if you want to experience your movie coming to life. The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is what I am waiting for next and I bet watching it on D-Box will be AWESOME.

    2. I like the analogy and your honesty that the seat takes some getting used to but wow, I've always loved that interactive experience. This Penguins movie looks great just from the preview.
I agree, there are some movies that would really benefit from the D-Box seat. Not Driving Miss Daisy though...
