Experience the gracious elegance that is Rama V

Being a fan of Thai cuisines, one of the restaurants that I haven't tried is Rama V (pronounced as Rama 5). I've heard so much about it and when a friend of ours had their wedding dinner there 2 years back, I was ecstatic! but due to unforeseen "memory lapse", my bf mixed up the wedding date and I was home alone while the crowd enjoyed a Thai feast under the stars. I'll never forget this!

Perhaps its because of this grudge that I never really go to Rama V until I saw Eugene and Jill, now heavily pregnant at Big Bens Publika 2 nights ago. Well looks like it's fate calling me to try Rama V when LivingSocial Malaysia launch a 50% OFF Rama V Cash Vouchers in conjunction with Rama V's 17th Anniversary celebration. Just looking at the pictures makes me want to go there now.

It's an awesome deal, the cash vouchers can be used for ala carte food and beverages on the menu, including alcoholic beverages too! (cocktails, beers). Also can be used to pay the 16% tax charge. I've already placed a booking to rent their private chalet (fits max 24pax). I called Rama V to inquire on the available dates and confirmation on whether the cash vouchers can be used to pay for the chalets (yes they said can!).

This is going to be an awesome photo-feast for me and my foodie friends! (some are die hard photographers with iron stomachs).

  4. Hi Tammy, I'd just like to say that I think the comments you post as Tammy in everyday.com.my looks unethical. You keep promoting the products/services like a NORMAL customer when you are in fact, the editor. Many Everyday members would not know this because it isn't stated that you WORK for Everyday.
Isn't that very misleading because there's a conflict of interest?

    1. Hi Wendy,

I work as an editor but I am also a customer. In fact if you are accusing me of being bias since I work for Everyday, you are wrong. If you have been observing me, I do not promote everything for Everyday. I am however, a big fan of Thai food and massage. I didn't cross any line :)

  5. Hi Tammy,

Some comments that you posted on Everyday--not on your personal blog--(not just this deal in particular, but generally) is still promotional in nature. While as a customer that is not wrong, the fact that you're the editor (and the company stands to gain via increased sales) and you're indirectly egging them on to purchase without disclosing the fact that you are working for the company, is a conflict of interest. Ever heard of independence in fact and in appearance?

Imagine this: a customer on another group buying site, let's say Groupon for example, keeps giving good feedback and going 'This is suchhh a good deal I'm going to buy 20 coupons!!'. It is only later you find out that he/she actually works for Groupon. Won't you feel the least bit skeptical?

    1. Actually I don't find it anything wrong for me to promote deals from my company, especially deals I think it's worth to buy. Though I was being truthful when commenting :) as I did purchase 18 coupons to go dine at Rama V with my friends.

  6. Tammy, like I said, it's all about disclosure of fact.

    1. Sarcasm eh? Oh well, can't change the way you think. Not everyone can see things from a neutral point of view anyway :)
