    back from Krabi with love

Ahh... anyone notice that I was missing from action for a week this month? ahem that's because I went on a short getaway with my fiance to Krabi, Thailand thanks to Air Asia Go Holidays. It was an amazing experience for 4 days there. It was also during the Songkran Festival a.k.a Thai "New Year" in the hottest month where everyone come out to splash water at everyone! via water guns and whatever water splashing methods there is. We packed light knowing everything will get wet the minute we touch down in Krabi. Only the essentials - light weight, comfortable clothing, camera and skincare products that would refresh our dirty face! (coz they also splash talcum powder and food coloring on our faces!!!), moisturizer and sunscreen.

this is Ao Nang Beach, Krabi
(people take speedboats to the beautiful islands from here)

     Ao Nang Town, Krabi
    (tourist spot everything dam expensive)

The first day was exploring Ao Nang town, we walked from our resort to the beach checking out grilled seafood, spas and restaurants there. We stopped at a tour centre and bought ourselves a full day Kayak tour to Bor Thor. Having being to Krabi for the first time, we didn't want to spend our time exploring beautiful islands but instead we opted for something more adventurous - KAYAKING! It would be our first time doing something exciting like this together. I read reviews about how enjoyable kayaking around the mangrove forest, caves and river would be. It also look beautiful in the pictures of the tour brochure.

finally reach Bor Thor kayak stop

heart pumping looking at the kayak

We paid RM260 for two person full day kayak tour with lunch and elephant ride. The day starts with tour van coming to pick us up from resort at 8.30am and we reached the Bor Thor kayak area after an hour. The tour guide taught us the basic skills of kayaking which was simple. The challenge comes when we actually have to get on the kayak in the water while praying we don't "sink" or worst turnover the kayak coz we're so big size (hahahahha). When we finally got into the kayak safely, we started to paddle. It was really tough and tiring paddling for hours but we knew that we can rock it together as a team. Our kayaking efforts paid off when we finally visited the beautiful mangroves, stigmatic caves and the famous "airy cave" where 3,000 years old painting can be found.

    our kayaking adventure together
    scary, fun and exciting!

not many photos of the kayaking & scenery because we can't hold our cameras during paddling plus water is splashing everywhere. I might drop my precious camera into the river to donate to crocodiles

the "airy cave" Tham Pee Hua Toe

     beautiful rock formation

cave is really airy & beautiful

     the 3,000 year old paintings

After the cave visit, we got back on to our kayak and paddle away. I think we lost like 10kg that day hahahahhaha and our arms almost break off. Worst scenario? rain and it really did rain heavily while we're paddling back. Fearing the rain would flood and sink us down, we pull all our strength and paddle power LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT (if paddle opposite way the kayak boat will will not move!!!) and reach our destination, all soaking wet but happy that we rock this together! (writes in diary this momentous day).

I hope you get the moral of my Krabi Kayak "kisah benar" (but nothing tragic happenlah) because I'm going to ask everyone a question. What question? Just tell me what takes two to rock! The best 3 rocking comments will win a special hamper filled with Mentholatum products worth RM100 each! Giveaway starts from now until 6th May, 2013. 12. It takes two to rock that boat/kayak coz if there's no proper trust and team effort your kayak won't go anywhere, similar in a relationship, it takes two to rock it to stay together.

    13. What takes two to rock?

Hahah for our case, my partner and I choose to go for New Zealand Working Holiday in the end of this 2013 year after our industrial training and the convocation (aka. graduation). In our age of 24 and 25 in 2014, is like very slow comeback compare to my other friends that I believe by that time they are firm with their own career. The sacrifice that my partner and I willing to take, by pick the road that not many people willing to take. Of course, two of us ain't regret on this as we are side by side walking toward our dream and rock all our way to what we believe!

    14. Hi..I never know Krabi would be that beautiful..Thank you for sharing the photos and experience with your readers..I'm definitely gonna put it into a must go place for me then..I bet the kayak part was the most memorable for both you and your fiance because i was once in your situation..thou i'm with my girl bestfriend..and she's very slim and small while me i'm very plus size and big..haha..can you imagine how the canoe will be once we're inside it? I thought it surely be imbalance but surprisingly it does not! A miracle for me! Haha..regarding your question "what takes two to rock!" which I think have the same meaning with "It Takes Two to Tango" idiom but i think "what takes two to rock" sounds much more rockingly crazy and cheeky..haha..so answer to your question I think its just when two peoples that have strong telepathy connection towards each other..I'm not sure what the exact word but its like just through looking at each other eyes you can understand what the other is thinking. There is no need for words. For your situation with your fiance in Krabi I think both of you have the same feeling during the Kayaking..which is let's just get over with it baby! The Kayaking is killing your arms but the experience and memories are priceless and precious to both of you. ^___^

      1. Hi Veroncyrila, I have many pics to show but it would just swamp this post down haha. I hope to find the time to sit down under a lemon tree and just type away being inspired by the sun and the wind.

Kayak is (after I the scardy cat with on balls did it) is really fun and it's not very dangerous, though first timers with height or control anxiety might need to do it slow and steady onto the boat and just remember that even if the boat topples over, you're wearing a life jacket that can float haha.

Very nice slogan, thank you :)

    22. heyya Tammy, what an awesome holiday you had with your fiance at Krabi ^_^ I wish to go there too, one fine day with my beloved. Well, to answer your question "what takes two to rock?", I would say it takes two to rock a beautiful everlasting relationship :) yeah people can always say that they are content with themselves, but the eternal happiness ? it takes two! doesn't matter with whom we would love the relationship to be, two is the perfect number. relationship between our self and God ? it takes two. between us and partner ? it takes two. or, between us and our pet ? two is still the answer :)

      ReplyDelete
    23. What takes two to rock? For me it's the acceptance of each other no matter what weakness the another one person have. That's how my love and I complement each other. He have his weakness, so do I but we never give up on each other and together we work it out no matter how tough it is, just like what you shared in your kayak experience. In the end, it's weakness that actually do the magic (should i say trick?) that let me know how lucky I am to have him besides me. Luckily till now we never give up on each other ♥

When both share the same craziness!!!!wuhoooo~~~~You can't be rocking there alone and everyone will be thinking is he/she ok?that's syiok sendiri =____= but when two did the same craziness, and people will say "Wow, what a rock couple!" hahahah....at least you got a companion to rock with!^^

Guess what!!!I'm heading to Krabi this year end so your post here very informative for my trip! Thanks

    26. What takes two to rock? Obviously it takes two to make a thing go right and complete each other ^_^

      ReplyDelete
    27. Well. I have more than one answer here, based on what you'd say is rocking - the negative and positive connotations. The first thing that comes to mind is rocking the boat. What rocks the boat? A lover's spat, and that takes two.

But even better is what makes a relationship rock, which also takes two! (And may I stress here not more than two! LOL No third person please.) Respect, acceptance, honesty. Trust. Having each other's backs without watching each other's backs (ie., looking out for each other vs mistrust and suspicion). Knowing it's not about what each of you are owed to or deserve but about trying anyway to make the other person happy because their happiness adds to ours.

Ah suddenly feel teary-eyed. I hope you reach your goal soon Tammy so you can start your marriage ASAP! I wanna see little Tammys soon (pressure right? haha)

    28. Was in Krabi not too long ago, don't remember it being that nice, you take good shots. Kayaking looks awesome will have to try it next time round when i go without the kids.

      What takes two to rock?

Like two pieces of rocks it involves lots of clashes to smooth out the rough edges, trial and errors to know what fits and what nots along the way and finally patience till it makes a perfect fit till eternity?

    29. *greetings <3*

personally i think everyone will definitely wants their loved ones to be safe and sound. So,what takes two to rock, i will say safe and sound. Two is always better than one especially to experience something new or when you are all alone in new environment, and Taylors Swift inspired me a lot to answer this questions as you can see. LOL

      First, Safe & Sound
      Second, Two=better than One

      till then, *cabut* =)

Okay...what takes two to rock? Hmm....Lets go Hard Rock Cafe together gether we rock and roll. haha....sounds silly :-p

what takes two to rock? Personally I think its all about understanding and forgiving. You doesn't have to be really serious...some jokes and laughter will actually enhance the atmosphere and build up a better relationship.

    37. Hmmm That is quite a tough question because me and le boyfie are totally two different person. Well, Gaming is what brought us closer to each other and from then on, our craziness make our relationship go Ga-Ga here and then. Tolerance and understanding are the important values for two to "rock", or maybe clapping hands get two to rock? :D

      ReplyDelete
    38. what takes two to rock?

i would say compromising, trust and understanding. the boyfie and i are on a LDR, since day three we started the relationship. we don't get to meet often that's why trust is important. and although we facetime/whatsapp/facebook all the time, it's still quite challenging whenever we meet.
he's so meticulously anooying it drives me nut at times! but i'm glad he is, cos i'm more like a careless person :/. and we can't physically be there for each other most of the time, here's how compromising and understanding come into play.

but i secretly quite likey the freedom i have now ehehehehehe. i can't imagine if we were to live under a roof together, his ocd is reeeeeally no kidding one :/

if i can tahan his ocd, i hope he can tolerate to my messiness.
