Reader Jiawun and now become awesome friend (she forced me put this) asked me to do a tutorial on how to register for a domain name via blogspot.com so I have decided to do my first tutorial on blogging related subjects to help budding bloggers out there to start their own blogs or be a awesome blogger (macamlah I ni awesome? haha). Anyway I believe everyone has thought of this:

shiat if I don't buy a domain name, I lose the chance to own my domain name (which I awesomely created)

SO yes it's important to secure and register your own domain because one day when you finally think you have the money to do so, your domain name is no longer available anymore thanks to the ABC syndicate online who wants to earn money from selling domain names to people who wants it. ALSO I think it will be more credible or original if you own a .com instead of blogspot.com (right? right?).

Anyway for those who's on blogspot, there's actually a section where you can buy domain straight from godaddy with the help of blogger. It's only USD10 to register your domain name! that's like what RM30++ ? (depending on exchange rate) and you will need a credit card to do that too.

How To Register A Domain Name from Blogger?

step 1: go to your blogger.com

select the blog you want & go to settings

step 2: click the +add a custom domain name
(it's just right under your blog address section)

step 3: check whether your domain address is available?

(you can change the domain address too no worries)

step  4: if not available, choose the ones which are

or enter another domain name to check

step 5: if your doman name is available, faster register

(be sure to double check spelling, etc)

step 6: register your details & move on
(don't forget to read t&c)

step 7: proceed to check out!

step 8: make payment with credit card

(I kinda forgot if you need register for google wallet first then only can pay)

step 9: payment successful! google will email you

(and your domain will be ready soon)

Err.. is that easy to follow? I can improve next time on more tutorials. There's a part where I have forgotten, it's the google wallet part. In order to purchase anything you need to register for google wallet (which is very easy n fast don't worry), then only you can pay. You can only pay via credit card so get ready one or ask your parents/friends help pay n you just Maybank them. It's only USD10 anyway... you're not going cheat their money.
