This October, Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Convention Centre is turning its signature R Bar into a little spot of pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

In partnership with the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM), the hotel has launched The Pink Hour, a month-long campaign to raise awareness about breast cancer while supporting those affected by it.

The highlight is The Pink Hour Afternoon Tea Set, a pretty spread of sweet and savoury treats inspired by the iconic pink ribbon. It’s designed for a leisurely afternoon with friends or family, but with an added purpose — 10% of every set sold will be channelled to NCSM to support its ongoing work in breast cancer awareness and patient care.

Afternoon Tea with a cause

I like that this campaign isn't just about enjoying an afternoon tea, there is also an encouragement to be more proactive about breast health. During the launch, guests were given the opportunity to learn more about breast examinations and early detection from healthcare professionals.

Marriott Bonvoy members can also enjoy a RM30 subsidy voucher towards a mammogram screening at NCSM, making it a nice additional push to actually prioritise regular screenings.
