About The Blogger

My name is Tammy Lim and I am an award winning blogger from Top 10 Malaysia Magazine and Cleo Malaysia Magazine. I have been blogging since 2008 and I am also the founder of a local Malaysian beauty & lifestyle community called The Butterfly Project. People often tell me that I'm a wonder woman, but in reality - if it's something you love, you can do wonders.

When I'm not wondering, I'll be on my computer searching for the next fountain of youth or hunting down a fantastic deal. I'm also a shopaholic, wanderluster, spa enthusiast and proud hipster who loves planning special occasions and surprises for her loved ones.

  • Philips Innovation That Matters To You Contest

    11.01.2013

a contest that would make tomorrow a better place

You don't come across contest that might have a significant impact on our daily lives in Malaysia. I joined the Philips Plus+ campaign last year but this year they have changed the campaign name to Philips Innovation That Matters To You. A longer but more meaningful campaign name that really says what it does. The contest has started earlier this month seeking Malaysians to join the Innovation That Matters To You contest to submit ideas for healthier homes or safer cities. It's really easy to join the contest, an idea as simple as don't fry food with oils for healthier homes can be accepted.

The advantage of joining a contest? Winning prizes of course! 6 winning ideas will be selected and they will all win Philips Prizes (see the prize photo below). Even better, do you know all 6 ideas will go through a voting phase where the numero uno, ultimate idea with the highest vote will be made come true (or realized) by Philips Malaysia? Say brighter public transportation waiting lanes to increase safety at night. Philips will make that come true!

I believe contests like these benefits our community. It's another greater calling. Winning prizes is just a bonus seriously.
The contest ends on 14th November, 2013 so don't forget to just do your part as a citizen of this country to improve the quality of life for everyone Whether it is for healthier homes or safer cities, your ideas might make a difference.

Your innovative ideas can help Malaysians everywhere live in safer cities and healthier homes! Learn how you can make a difference. What are your ideas for building safer cities and healthier homes?

    submit, share & vote

    contribute your idea today

Submitting an idea is easy but your idea needs to be also realistic, sustainable (means long term) and benefit not only yourself but many. Here's the pointers:

    • Realistic - it must be practical to implement.
    • Sustainable  - it should demonstrate long term viability.
    • Benefit many, not a few - the more people it benefits the better your chance of having your idea implemented.

my idea may be too modern for Malaysia
(but scientist overseas has already begun doing this)

There's two category of ideas you can submit to. Either for Healthy Homes or for Safer Cities (see explanation and examples below). I choose safer cities because I believe that would benefit our community and improve energy saving and security. Think Avatar the movie. The plants grow in the dark creating a natural lighted environment. It's not only brighter, it's also naturally beautiful.

P.S you can submit as many ideas as you want to any two categories.

who says glow in the dark plants/trees is not the future?

    Category 1: Healthier Homes

simple examples that might come true

    Category 2: Safer Cities

sitting around won't help your city

I hope everyone tries to submit an idea, who knows your idea could win prizes for you and be used to improve our lives in Malaysia. The contest is ending this 14th November, 2013 so don't missed it. Tell your friends, get your families, anyone to submit an idea for a better tomorrow.

    4. We can and may create a shot to alter our habits and settle for the importance of living a healthy life style. If society will not create changes, then we tend to as people ought to create them.
