One might wonder what's this baking workshop all about? well =) click on the banner and you'll soon find out why this kitten is so adamant about baking, and not just literally baking. Yes AMBP also stands for All Malaysian Blogger Project is giving 5 lucky winners along with their friends to a baking workshop where they'll learn:

    • Sweet buns (with red bean, tuna and hot dog fillings)
    • Moist chocolate cake
    • Chocolate fudge &
    • Chocolate chip walnut cookies

    The complete itinerary:

    Bakin' with Dr Baker

    July 5 (Saturday)

Malaysian Institute of Baking, 11 Jalan 52/B, New Town, 46200 Petaling Jaya

    9am - 1pm

Briefing on the recipes and a little theory on baking

    Baking session with Dr Baker

Q&A session & group photography (souvenirs to be presented to participants)

And the tricky part is convincing them why you should be one of the lucky 5! so here's my word:

I am no grandpa, neither do I have little children to bring to or a modern age man who can cook, clean and now wants to bake (dude! u don't want to be tag as GAY do u? ok if u r one sorry.. my mistake let's go shopping) but I can tell you this! I have absolutely no idea how to bake, well ok I can read guidelines on the Instant Muffin Box at Giant Supermarkets and try to make a "muffin" in my microwave oven and when the muffins are done, I'm left wondering where did the rocks come from?

Seriously! if you really want to enlighten 5 cylones, i mean people about baking, you should at least select those who needed HELP, note I used the word HELP which means that person obviously has issues about baking and needs to be house train to at least feed the poor with meals that don't end with any of these words:

hospital clinic bomba fire stomach pump police army forces 911

and come on, don't give it to those people who already know how to bake! look at the recipe:

    • Sweet buns (with red bean, tuna and hot dog fillings)
    • Moist chocolate cake
    • Chocolate fudge &
    • Chocolate chip walnut cookies
Those who already know how to bake, should be able bake those listed above! If not already know the other varieties of cakes, cookies and what not in the baking book. So! only noobs (dumb and freshie) people like me who don't know what types of flour are there and how not to beat an egg should be selected to go! come on.. the only chocolate chip walnut cookies or any cookies I get to lay my hands on is from Famous Amos.

Well you know as with the current economic and financial situation now (petrol hike etc domino everything to naik harga) I can't afford to eat out anymore even at Mamak! 1 sirap limau ais is RM2-00!!! can u believe that? I really need to learn how to bake, so I can feed myself, my family, my friends and even donate to the poor especially to KSK! Kenchara Soup Kitchen whose mission is to help feed the poor in KL City. With baking, I no longer need to buy a cake for birthdays (dam u all bakery who keep on hiking the price on cakes.. it used to be only under rm30 for a 1kg cake.. now it's rm80!!) and I could actually give muffins to friends/events as gifts (cut cost on shopping for gifts) just like Bree in Desperate Housewives.

SO PLEASE! I BEG YOU! GIVE THE KNOWLEDGE TO HELPLESS PEOPLE LIKE ME.. living in a era of Petrol Hike, Food Price Increase and have no money to buy gifts for people to LEARN BAKING at least a muffin so the world can be a better place.

SOB SOB SOB... tears of petrol hike.

The Happening and some say it's not so happening.

    The latest movie I've watched:

    GSC.COM.MY Synopsis:

A couple goes on the run from an apocalyptic crisis that presents a large-scale threat to humanity.

    My Review:
You might wonder why gsc has such a short write up on this film, well the answer is pretty simple! because the plot is the story itself and if they write about it..the whole movie goes to the dogs.

I for one was a bit MAD on Mr. Night making another "boo in ur face..it's actually like that.." movie. After The Village, Lady in the Water I grew tired of watching his films and expecting another garbage out of "The Happening". BUT on a fateful boring day I decided to watch this movie (since I've watched almost any other movies there's none left to pick) and with my expectations at home, I sat quietly and watched the movie for 1 hour and 33minutes.

SURPRISINGLY I actually liked the movie! amidst the jokes and insults most cinema-goers and reviewers from local newspapers and such are throwing. I actually like this movie. I won't rate it a blockbuster, must see movie but on a boring, lonely day - Yes, you may actually find the idea of trees evolving to the extent protecting itself from humans by releasing neurotoxins into the air, communicating among each other to make humans go crazy INTERESTING !SPOILER ALERT! pair with gore and gruesome accidents that happen (thank god wasn't censor... fully if not the movie would be really a joke).

So u see the actual storyline of this movie is the plot itself. I give it brownie points for making an earth day attempt to point out a possible theory and warning to us pest of the world creatures who's still destroying our world by riding in cars and turning on the aircond.

One may say this is a stupid movie and one might say hey..this could happen?

I guess we know why Mr. Night name it "The Happening".

2 STARS on a rainy day.

    i) Who plays the eponymous character in the movie Hancock?

ii) Fill in the blanks: In a bid to save a ...WHALE..., Hancock heaves it out to sea, only to see it smash a sailboat.

    My Sypnosis on Hancock

In the modern day society, we have the modern day grumpy old man who curses at the reckless Mat Rempits on the road and then we have the modern day teenagers who will not hesitate to give you a piece of their mind. TODAY nobody is without problems, there is no white picket fence and a garden full of flowers. With modern day people, modern day lives and modern day criminals comes a modern day superhero to the rescue and he packs a hell of an attitude even Mat Rempits run.

He's no superman, no need brylcream there, just a cap.

He's no batman, with the shades on who needs to wear a mask anymore?

He's no hulk, well not green. Black is the new Green!

MEET HANCOCK! a superhero unlike any other, with problems just like u & me. Watch out for that WHALE! *duckkks*splash*

Ok don't like my version of the story?

10 reasons why u should watch Hancock by Miu

    1. Eye Candy
There's a before & after fashion show starring Hancock in his beach wear, slightly casual but still good since it shows his manly side. Notice he work out a lot? Oh if you like the beach wear, you'll definitely love his working gear.. it shows his biceps

    2. lights, camera ACTION
Forget the conventional poses with swimsuits, superhero suits.. Hancock does it like no other but way cooler in just his average joe gears. Lotsa action in cool clothes don't miss it. It's not just the Whale that is flying off this time.

    3. Anger Management
Learning to cope with the petrol hike and domino effects, Hancock will teach you what not to do when angry. Besides, you can get some renovation ideas here.

    4. Pretty Chicks!
Hey let's not forget, hancock is not the only pretty boy in this film, there's Charlize Theron who was a blast in King Kong remake (only now her husband is the one remaking the king kong "hancock" into a tame orang utan) and hey I think she's the villain in the movie.... just a hunch could be wrong :P

    5. Anti Snatch Thief Lessons
For us Malaysian woman (and man) Hancock's got some great moves for you to combat pesky snatchers!

    6. Dik, mana seat belt engkau? kena saman kan...
Yeap people he's not the bad guy ok. He's really the good guy just not in armani suit, sleek hair, clean shaven face and sweet mouth. A crime fighter who's always misunderstood because people watch too much marvel comic superhero stories already to realize heroes comes in all kinds of shape, size and even attitudes.

    7. He's funny, in a different kind of way.
Hancock has some awesome moves that will make you laugh until your belly hurts.

    8. Do I have Permission to touch your body? it's not sexual.
I think this is like the question of the year! everyone's raving on this.. Hancock has to rescue this lady and being a changed man, he proceeded to ask permission saying it's not like on any other day. GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! avoid sexual harassment at all cost ok!!!

    9. He has superhero powers & also can fly!
Yes like superman Hancock can also fly! but please don't drink n drive... or fly because you may crash into some government properties, billboards.. and be charged for it.

Malaysia Artistes For Unity = MAFU

I'd like to share a really beautiful video made by our very own people for the people. It's a beautiful and touching tale about connecting our hearts and being one as a nation. Words can't describe the rush of a high I have when I first heard this video, so please take your time to savor it and dwell in it's presence.

I love you, whoever you may be.

    about MAFU

    pete was juggling tomatoes.

bored. so he telephoned a few friends. “how about getting together to make an anti-racism national unity song and music video?” all said yes without hesitation. not because pete threatened them with a sharp and rusty knife. but only because they love malaysia.

the contingent swelled to 52 people a few days later. it included filmmakers, dancers, singers, producers, musicians, actors, entrepreneurs, designers, footballers, activists, celebrities, students and a florist. nobody would be paid. yet they were enthused. not because they were high on speed. only because they love Malaysia.

they gathered to record the song. it had a catchy chorus and was able to induce a mass sing-along. everyone was happy when it was done. they named it ‘here in my home’. then more people joined. the party now included more than 120 people. but the budget remained exactly zero. it seems even the spreadsheet loves malaysia.

everyone turned up for the video shoot. much fun was had and friendships made. video editors went to work after the shoot was done. both the recording and the video would be given away for free. a gift to the nation. from those who love malaysia to those who feel the same.

did you ask what this is all about?

    it’s about LOVE

    help MAFU now!

the success of our project depends wholly on your support. please help us by embedding our video on your site or blog. in order to minimize our bandwidth usage, it is best you embed the youtube version of the video. click on the youtube link >here<>

Lately I've fallen in love with Umai-Ya, a japanese restaurant in damansara uptown!!! (miu zero, food 1) so far I've been there 5 times already since last month after I discovered the fabulous Umai-Ya's "promotional rebate vouchers" 1 set of 8 vouchers for rm29-90, which is not bad actually!. You get 4 freebie dishes from that voucher set, and 4 types of rebates of your total food bill :

    • Spend RM60 - rebate RM25
    • Spend RM100 - rebate RM40
    • Spend RM160 - rebate RM80 (1/2 price!)
    • Spend RM300 - rebate RM150 (1/2 price!)

    4 freebie dishes:

California Maki / Agedashi Dofu (toufu) / Green Salad / Litako Kyuli (baby octopus)

The only setback in this promotion is:
    1. the amount you spend must be on food, not drinks/dessert.
    2. only 1 freebie redeemable per visit, per receipt, per table, per day.
    3. freebies must be redeem at the branch stated
(note black coupon is DU branch, brown is Damansara Perdana branch)
    4. only for dine-in, not take away.
    5. valid until October, 2008.
    6. It's a lot of food... u're definitely going to gain some weight if u buy this rebate set.
    7. total rebate coupons are 8 (2 of each type)
I'll show you some pictures taken from my last visit to Umai-Ya (which is yesterday) here:

    Umai-Ya Damansara U

Fabulous ambiance I must say. No that's not me in the picture, just my friend being seduced by display of food in front of her.

Here, this is what she's looking at.

Tori Nankotsu (Deep Fried Chicken Soft Bone)

    Jasmine, happy with the food.

    Soft Shell Crab Maki yyyummmy..

Tori Katsu Nabe (Claypot Deep Fried Chicken with Onion & Egg)

    My favourite!
    Kani Unatama Maki
    (Soft Shell Crab+Unagi+tamago)

this is how it looks like =)

    Ika Geso Karaage
    (Deep fried squid legs)

    Chicken Teriyaki Bento Set

    Soft Shell Crab

    Grilled Pregnant Fish?

Just order any sashimi & they'll put it in a ice bowl =D

    Unagi & Rice yummmeeee!!

I have more pictures! however.. u must be wondering why it's so dark? well the place is really romantically dim, with tatami seating areas and a Japanese ambiance. Food is awesome here! and did I mention the REALLY NICE ambiance? price wise it's just like dining at Sushi King/Genki Sushi but... of coz it's way better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If u people are interested in knowing where you can get the rebate coupons, drop me a comment =)

    I am a freebie-holic sob sob

I am not embarrass to say that I was the second place winner for Hot Magazine's "Made of Honor" Movie Preview Contest which I attended yesterday 16/06/08 (Monday night) at Cathay Cineplex Damansara. The prize? A bottle of Petalo Vino Dell'Amore Moscato Sparkling Wine worth RM150-00 for the 1st and 2nd winner who redeem their movie preview passes, which was also free because I read Hot Magazine! ngek ngek ngek (evil laugh of happiness).

    The Sparkling Wine! wah..looks amazing.

Well what surprised me was that the wine came with a goodie bag that consists of the latest copy of Hot Magazine, a tongkat ali drink (wut the..) St. Ives silky moisturizer and hot shower, motorola handphone accessory, Body's Shop sample perfume, Leonard Drake's RM100 voucher, a motorola lighter (wut...the) Starbuck's buy 1 free 1 voucher, Bonita RM10 voucher, a Lipstick and the most WUT THE of all is durex condom. One may think this goodie bag must be for a "good night's entertainment".

If I can tell a story out of this goodie bag it would be:

Before my date, I'll make appointment with Leonadard Drake coz I don't want to scare my date away with my blackhead and acne fill face. After which I will go to Bonita to buy an accessory to match my panties ops clothes and rush home to take a nice hot shower with St. Ives and then put St. Ives moisturizer so that my skin will be silky soft for my date at Starbucks with Mr. Handsome.

RING RING my handphone goes and I took out my motorola strap handphone to answer "hello? Mr. Handsome? Are u here yet?" Mr. Handsome says he will be late!!! Sigh.. looks like I have to drink my Buy 1 Free 1 Starbucks all by myself and read Hot magazine while waiting for Mr. Handsome. Ops I see Mr. Handsome coming! faster re-apply my Revlon Lipstick so I can kiss him MUAHAHHAHA.

Mr. Handsome took me to a fancy restaurant where we open up my Petalo Vino Dell'Amore Moscato Sparkling Wine worth RM150-00 and we get drunk chatting about ourselves and hinting on what we're going to do later.. of coz we end up at a nice 5 star hotel (this is just fiction please don't get upset) and while in the bathroom I faster drink my tongkat ali nescafe.

Then "off lights" and XXXXXXXX under 18 cannot read plz. The I use my lighter to light up my face and say "Darling, we've only met for 2 hours and I know you'll dump me if I become pregnant, so can u pls put on this DUREX CONDOM to save us both the trouble?"

ya.. i think that's what Hot Magazine Goodie Bag is for.."good night's entertainment".

Finally got my Stila Girlfriend Freebies!

YES! I finally got my freebies from being a Stila Girlfriend Club Member! Just a brief explanation about what's Stila GF Club is all about, stila started this in 2008 (or at least when I got to know about it after my birthday) and if u purchase RM200-00 above as a Citibank/MTV Credit Card Holder u're entitle to become a Stila GF. As a Stila GF, u get:

    1. 1st to receive Stila updates on new launches & programmes.
    2. Get invited to Stila events/parties.
    3. Birthday Specials ( I was lied to when I first became a member, they said HQ will send my birthday specials to me for my birthday month, what whole load bullcrap, I found out few months later that only ON YOUR BIRTHDAY DATE NOT MONTH u'll get ONE STAR from the COUNTER DAM I ALREADY FREAKIN MISS THIS BCOZ OF SOME NUB SA. Can't they distinguish the meaning of birthday month and date?? and if u miss it, you'll be doomed to beg from the SA to give u your bday star with some bogus reasons like no time to come on your birthday, and they'll say oklah close one eyes since it's still your "birthday week" but in my case I only found out after a few months bcoz I WAS STUPIDLY WAITING FOR THE HQ TO POST ME SOMETHING so no birthday star for me. Birthday specials my foot!!!!!)

    Your GF Club Card
(more like a tracking device on your spending than a membership card and it only last 6 months dam lol funnee stupid condition whoever heard membership last 6 months? and a freakin rm200 or rm300 on purchases just to be a member back)

    Redemption Program
1st star - stila gf mug
5th star- RM300 worth of cosmetic
10th star - RM500 worth of cosmetic + make up case

1st star awarded with purchase of RM300 (or RM200 if Citibank/MTV Credit Card Holder)
Subsequent star awarded with purchase of RM150.

    1st star
My Stila GF Club Mug which comes in a cute box.

    5th & 10th Star

Are all these rm800 worth of Stila Cosmetics? It don't looked like rm800 and boy if it it, our currency is really weak! rm800 for 9 items is MAD. Later on I got an sms from Stila BU asking me to collect my gifts. I was confused, did they split the redemption up or did I finally win a Stila contest that I have been entering in magazines? I don't know but check out my latter post on the gifts. It's amazing!
