Mori Wellness: Best Foot Spa in Publika

A Taste of Kyoto in Publika: My Experience at Mori Wellness

As someone who has been a spa lover since my early 20s, I’ve experienced countless massages and treatments across Malaysia — but my recent visit to Mori Wellness in Publika truly stood out. It’s a place that feels like a secret escape into Japan, without ever leaving the city.

I highly recommend the Happy Hour Foot Massage RM68

From the moment you step inside Mori Wellness, you’re greeted with a serene ambiance that immediately slows your pace. The wooden tones, soft lighting, and Japanese-inspired design elements make you feel like you’ve entered a little piece of Kyoto. It’s clear that the owner has poured time, thought, and heart into building this sanctuary. Every detail whispers calm.

The Signature Ashiyu Experience

Before our massage sessions began, my fiancĂ© and I were invited to enjoy Mori’s signature Japanese Ashiyu (foot soak) for 15 minutes, a highlight that sets this spa apart. You get to choose from four types of herbal or mineral foot soaks, each beautifully presented in traditional wooden tubs:

  • Ginger: Improves blood circulation, relieves muscle tension, and warms the body.
  • Mugwort: Relieves stress, improves circulation, anti-inflammatory & detoxifying.
  • Calendula: Soothes tired feet, calms the skin, and promotes healing.
  • Sea Salt: Detoxifies, softens rough skin, and helps reduce swelling.

I chose Mugwort, my personal favourite, for its grounding and detoxifying qualities. As the warm, bubbly water embraced my feet, the jacuzzi jets started to work their magic, instantly relaxing me. What I loved most was that while soaking, the masseuse came over to give a gentle neck, shoulder, back, and head massage, and for those like me who took the foot massage package, they also included a magnetic wand massage that targets tension points. It’s short, around five minutes, but feels wonderfully rejuvenating.

"The Ashiyu (Japanese foot bath) helps improve circulation, ease muscle aches, and reduce stress. It's warm, mineral water promotes relaxation and better sleep."

If I had one small wish, it would be for this Ashiyu time to be on top of the treatment duration because it’s honestly such a blissful start!

Foot & Body Massage

After the Ashiyu, my fiancĂ© and I parted ways. He went for a full-body massage in one of the private rooms, while I settled into a cozy reclining chair for my 45-minute foot massage. The therapist’s technique was skillful, balancing firm pressure with relaxing strokes. My legs felt light and refreshed afterward.

For those considering a visit, I’d definitely recommend going for at least a 90-minute session if you have the time; it gives you space to fully unwind and let your body and mind melt into the experience.

After our treatments, we were served sakura-shaped pineapple tarts and a cup of tea — a small but charming detail that made the experience feel even more personal.

Whether you’re a spa enthusiast or simply looking for a new way to recharge, Mori Wellness offers a beautiful fusion of Japanese aesthetics and Malaysian hospitality. If you’re new, try their Happy Hour Foot Massage at RM68 (Monday to Thursday, 11 AM – 5 PM). It’s a lovely way to dip your toes — literally — into their world of calm.
