Vitamin C in a Sachet To The Rescue!

are you taking your daily dose of vitamin C?

It's been a rough year but I'm finally back! For many of you following me on my Instagram @hellotammylim and my Facebook tammylci, you'll know the major changes in my life this year. Change is inevitable, everyone adults up but you can make it yours. For me, 2019 was a change in many things - my health in particular.

Last year, I was weighing 83kg at one point but I am now at my ideal weight of 65kg (could've been better). I lost 13kg through dietary changes alone (keto and intermittent fasting thanks to Dr. Jason Fung). No longer am I chasing fast food, stuffing myself with refined carbs and sugar. Instead, I take 30mins walk every day, manage my stress levels and going for massages. For my diet, I eat a low carb diet consisting of whole foods such as vegetables and fruits. It's easy when you have the determination and many of my friends asked me how do I start, what do I take?

I take protein (chicken, lean meats), healthy fats (extra virgin olive oil, nuts), avoid refined sugar, dairy, processed food and refined carbs such as rice, noodles, pasta, and bread. I also started taking health supplements that my body needs, such as Vitamin C which is really important for:
  • travelers
  • smoker
  • elderly
  • people under stress

a vitamin C a day, keeps the doctor away

I know what you're going to say, you can get vitamin C from fruits. Well, I know, but if you're a busy girl like me, how many oranges or fruits do you eat or squeeze to drink to get that healthy dose of vitamin C each day?

Vitamin C Deficiency
  • scurvy
  • bleeding gums
  • slow wound healing
  • frequent nosebleeds
  • split hair
  • dry scaly skin

Our body doesn't produce vitamin C so we must get it from outside-the-body sources such as oranges, mango, guava, citrus fruits, tomatoes, leafy vegetables and animal sources (meat, fish, eggs, poultry, dairy products). But because vitamin C is the least stable of all vitamins, it is easily destroyed during processing and storage.

Our body's vitamin C store can be affected by dietary intake, metabolic losses, renal "urine" excretion, and fecal losses.  It is also sensitive to stress. The first nutrient to be depleted in alcoholics, smokers, and obese individuals.

I can already pinpoint some factors that may have affected my body's vitamin c storage.

So what's a simple solution then?
I would recommend Bio-Life's Mega-C Plus Bioflavonoid. It's vitamin C in a sachet which I take to work every day, pour into a glass mix with water and drink. That easy!

(I have been taking this since I started Keto)

Why is vitamin C with Bioflavonoid important?

The Mega-C Plus Bioflavonoid is a high strength vitamin C in calcium ascorbate enriched with bioflavonoids. As vitamin C is water soluble, the bioflavonoids help to increase the absorption and utilization of vitamin C in the body. Those with a sensitive stomach or gastric issues, guess what? this does not irritate your stomach at all since the buffered Mega-C Plus Bioflavonoid ascorbate form of neutral pH.

  • strengthen the body health system
  • fight against free radical damage to the body
  • maintain general health
  • high antioxidant
  • collagen formation
  • helps maintain capillaries, bones & teeth
  • aids in the absorption of iron

a box of 30 orange flavor powder sachets
(1 month supply)

contains 1000mg vitamin C
(no added sugar!)

dissolve one sachet with 1/2 a glass of cool water (125ml)
and drink once daily with a meal

just like that, convenient right

Let me recap why I am recommending this. The sachets are easy and convenient to bring around, especially to work. It's a once daily dose, so you're not going to worry about anything else once you drink this at lunch. Since it's in sachet form, it won't oxidate. Those with a gastric or sensitive/weak stomach can take this. Anyone who's on keto, trying to cut down sugar intake or is diabetic the good news is there's no added sugar here. Easily absorbed, and it tastes like orange cordial!

You can get this from leading pharmacies nationwide, including Caring, Guardian, Watsons and independent pharmacies. A box would cost you RM55. Suitable for age 12 years and above, highly recommend those who lead a stressful life, travelers, elderly, working adults and those who need a health boost!
