Unboxing Clarisonic Mia 2

charging my clarisonic mia 2 for 24hrs

Finally I mean finally, the Clarisonic Mia 2 is in my hands. No I didn't get this free, I actually bought it by taking up freelance jobs. The satisfaction from purchasing it with my own means is so gratifying! I hope my fiance don't follow my blog because this freakin piece of gadget costs RM530.00 from Sephora Malaysia. It was initially priced nearly RM700 until L'oreal took over so girls if you're looking to buy Clarisonic cleansing brushes, this is the time to get one (especially when you have 10% discount from Sephora after collecting 250 points).

the 60seconds cleansing regime

Here I am doing the signature brush to face I love Clarisonic Mia 2 pose. It's what everyone do when they first get their Clarisonic brushes! Initially I wanted to buy this for my birthday but they were all out of stock so I placed an order for a Pink Mia 2 at Sephora Paradigm Mall. Finally they called me and I rushed over to see my new pink baby. The second good news were the prices were slashed so I saved even more! Mia is RM420 and Plus is now RM800. Brush heads are still priced at RM90.

My obsession with Clarisonic started from visiting Sephora last year. At first I was shocked a cleansing device would cost that much! Curious, I google, read reviews and watch youtube videos about people raving about Clarisonic. I have tried the Neutrogena Wave Sonic (a hand held battery operated deep cleansing device), then L'Oreal's Perfect Clean (a scrublet) and Haba's Ion My Esthe (ion device) but nothing came close to my desires to get a Clarisonic Skin Cleansing System. Perhaps it's because of the technology used and the "benefits" everyone is raving about that made me go crazy.

How do I feel after purchasing my pink Clarisonic Mia 2 device? I feel like I belong to a community that proudly claims now I can have beautiful, smooth and clean face. My decision making wasn't easy, it took me some time to really decide to go for it because of the price factor. I have tried the cheaper methods of facial cleansing, via manual cleansing with the help of a scrublet, a mid range battery operated device from Neutrogena, an equally expensive Ion device by Haba but Clarisonic actually came out as the winner in terms of usability, technology, control of use (has a beeper to signal you when to stop & switch areas for cleansing) and cleansing results. Price wise, its a show stopper because a smart consumer would not buy this at first sight. Only the fairly vain or obsessed would finally give in to try something in hopes of becoming beautiful and pay that much.

My skin is definitely smoother thanks to it's micro-massage technology with a brush head that oscillates, because it helps remove dead skin cells; allowing better penetration and absorption of your skincare products particularly serums before you go to bed, which in turn makes you beautiful the next day.

Mia 2 has 2 years warranty & money back guarantee
(not sure money back works in Msia)

However I'm only using it once a day because I have sensitive skin and I don't want to over cleanse my face and make it dry. Also I'm not using it to clean my make up because I don't want to get the brush head dirty quickly and make up residue to get into my pores since the product claims to work well against your skin to remove impurities, what happens when make up residues gets stuck deep in if you don't cleanse properly. That's just me being skeptical, so I rather gently remove my make up first than only use the Clarisonic with a gentle cleanser as a double cleanse.

I hope more facial cleansing systems will pop into the market soon (e.g Olay's Professional Pro-X) so that prices will be consumer friendly. If you're going to buy it, know that it will be an investment towards beautiful smooth skin rather than a one time magical product.

I'll do a proper review of it after a month or so, it's too soon to say whether my pores, fine lines, wrinkles, oil seeds, white or black heads is reduced from religiously using a device that works 6 times better than my hands. For now will you purchase this in hopes to get beautiful skin?

P.S: all photographs shown here is taken with the Samsung Galaxy Camera. I love the macro shots on this baby!

    1. Yeah need to change. After 3 months or when you notice your brush turned color or is not in good condition change. But dun wait until horrible condition to change coz brush might damage ur skin if bristles already KOyak.

The brush material? never check oh. Macam biasa je, it's soft definitely. There's 3 or more types of brush head but when you buy your clarisonic model, it comes standard with a sensitive brush head for beginners to use. They say it's for u to get acustomed to the brush first b4 u move on to :

      - gentle brush
      - normal brush
      - deep cleansing brush (their latest i read)

also got body brush . All brushes priced at RM90 per pc at Sephora Malaysia.

  7. i'm purchasing the Olay Professional ProX Cleansing System coz i really cant afford Clarisonic at this time. I hope it will not be a disappointment as i read many reviews saying that it's good, though it cant 100% challenge Clarisonic.
