  • Day 2 AoNang Krabi Thailand

    4.17.2017

    Good Morning Krabi!

The next morning I woke up after the most comfortable night's sleep in a long time (my bed mattress at home is hard not very comfy and hurts my back sometimes) Peace Laguna's comfy spacious Queen size bed gets a big thumbs up from me - wish I could take it back home with me! As we had booked one of the private cottages, the facilities include an outside rainforest shower, personal DeLonghi coffee maker machine with a variety of different capsules replenished every day on request, and 2 personal sun loungers to relax and get your tan on with a view of the lagoon.

the new addition to the rooms, your own coffee machine

the grandeur of a private cottage, fresh flowers!

we spent many hours lounging around here

umbrellas, carry on bags are a bonus!
(you can dump what you need & go out for a walk)

    outdoor rain shower (open concept)

    your very own whirlpool bathtub

Hehe, I was so looking forward to trying out my Lush bubble baths I had bought ages ago in the jacuzzi (don't have a bathtub at home *sigh*) so that was the 1st thing on the agenda for today before breakfast. The Jacuzzi is only really big enough for 1 person so romantic encounters for partners would be a bit of a tight squeeze and awkward to maneuver around. It could also do with a bit more of an updated maintenance service as hygienic quality not quite up to standard and controls not functioning adequately.

    beautiful place for walks day/night

breakfast overlooking the lagoon & cottages

all kinds of eggs, made to order

bread, coffee, jams, your western style breakfast

After my relaxing soak, I got dressed and walked over to the restaurant upstairs with Baby G where breakfast is served.  Looking around and checking out all that's on offer I was pretty impressed with the selection and variety available. Buffet style with both Asian and Western dishes available with an egg section and a choice of how you like your eggs - poached, scrambled or fried including omelets. There's also a variety of different cereals available along with a range of yogurts, bacon, and sausages, fresh salad, bread including croissants, fresh juices, and tea or coffee. The Asian and Western dishes change every day so you don't get bored of the same thing every morning for breakfast.

newly installed hammocks at the reception area
    (couple photography a must here)

they have their own tourist desk for exciting day/night tours
(I recommend taking WangSai Speedboat tours!)

the reading corner near the reception

We were so full after trying everything for breakfast that we just chilled out by the main pool below the restaurant and lobby/reception area. Quite a big pool very clean it comes to life and looks spectacular lit up at night. They also have a shallow section for kids and there are 2 other swimming pools available at other parts of the resort situated amongst the private cottages.

Another cool facility Peace Laguna has are brand new comfy hammocks to chill on situated in the newly renovated elegant and inviting lobby area. As you can see from the pics, they are suspended by chains attached to the ceiling roof, so a different feeling to the more traditional canvas style hammocks you see tied to trees in beaches and resorts.

The reception area is a 360° open plan style situated in the center of the lobby area with a small tourist info area to help guests book day trips, organize activities and general info. Peace Laguna's other facilities include a spa area, (we decided to try out the numerous massage parlors outside on the street in Ao Nang which was a lot cheaper and usually no appointment is needed) a library, kids play area and a gym. The gym has basic equipment but needs upgrading.

the building situated outside of the resort
    (for gyms/meetings/spas)

this magnificent tree welcomes all to Peace Laguna!
    (especially beautiful at night)

shops of all kinds along the alley path
(there's massage shops here at affordable rate!)

outside? plenty of shops, dining & drinking areas

fancy getting a makeover as a backpacker?

    tip the bird will ya

Krabi is filled with tourist all year round
(see this Sex & The City male version friends)

plenty of travel options available too - boat, bus, taxi
(prices are fixed for the local mini "tuk-tuk bus"/busses)

AoNang Beach is 5mins walk away only

The highlight of our stay at Peace Laguna Resort & Spa would definitely be walking around at night when everything is all lit up - perfect location for a romantic midnight stroll through this contemporary South African tribal village inspired design. An ideal destination for honeymooners, a treat for your partner on his/her birthday or as a romantic Valentine's day gift for your loved one.
