  • Beauty Gushes: Senka, Rachel K & Beauty Blender

    4.01.2013

    Senka Japan: cleansing series
    (affordable & awesome)

Senka Japan: gel & water based UV protection
    (super love the blue one!)

Beauty Blender, Luxola.com: for applying BB Cream
(the popular beauty blender! dam expensive too)

     Rachel K, Singapore: CC Cream
(made me dump my Skin79 for this!)

Just want to share what's going on in my mind last month. I've recently fallen in love with several  products and went crazy. First I really love Senka skincare products from Japan. I have tried the Hoshitsu lotion (moisturizer), UV lotion and Perfect Whip (cleansing foam) and I highly recommend these products! they're affordable, light weight and water based. I've repurchased back and also gotten the entire cleansing range to review  (sudden obsession with Senka) and the UV Gel which I can't wait to try.

Thanks to Groupon's deal I manage to purchase a RM50 voucher to shop at Luxola.com. What did I buy? nothing but the famed beauty blender which retails for about RM72? I bought the set so it's RM120, comes with a sponge cleaner (can also clean brushes). Minus that I only paid RM70 and got free shipping! super happy although I had to wait nearly 1 month for my shipping to arrive * disappointed*. I'm going to use it to apply my BB Creams, wait I have already dumped BB Creams for CC Creams, namely Rachel K! A review will be up soon too. All I can say now it's definitely better than BB Creams! lightweight, smooth and natural.

      1. I shall rush myself for a review up tomorrow soonest! If you're having oily skin, the Hada Labo BB Cream would be suitable for you as it has oil control benefits. Found it to be too drying on my face. Rachel K's CC Cream is a lightweight smooth cream that gives a natural dewy finish (the pink one for yellow undertone). Black is for pinkish undertone.

    3. It is quiet expensive for a beauty blender >.< but you're familiar with Too Cool For School right, they have the marshmallow sponges that works well too. I love it, and it only cost RM 20 ++ ;)

      1. :( I have compared it with other sponges (similar looking) and the price difference is too great. It pulls the beauty blender down. If it was affordable, it would surely be a recommended blending tool in Asia coz Asia has so much more to offer, various types of similar sponge with cheaper price tag.

It's really small and the shape is friendly to hold

      1. :((((( since I been using it with the Rachel K... i don't really see a significant difference compared to using other type of blender sponge (from SASA, from Too Cool For School). It's a big difference compare to using the conventional block sponge and brushes. Guess in Asia there's cheaper alternatives that could give the same result..

the price of the beauty blender makes it not impressive >_<

    10. Hi, Tammy! I can't wait for your review about Senka sunscreen. By the way, I have a question about sunscreen for face. can we actually apply it on eye areas? Thanks! :)

      1. Hi Yi Lian,

Yes T_T oh.. I'm so busy now... it might not be anytime soon sorry.. I'll try my best to review it, maybe a easy review. For sunscreens, I once asked my dermatologist about it and he advised me not to use around my eye area as our eye area has the thinnest skin and chemicals in the sunscreen might irritate or cause harm.

Below the eyebrow is find but eyelids, undereye is no no unless you buy sunscreen specially made for the eye area or eye creams with spf.

Another way to protect the eyes from sun's damage is to wear sunshades or if you're wearing glasses, get Transition Lenses or Essilor for UV protection.

      2. Hi, Tammy. Thank you very much for your reply. I just recently read somewhere about UV causing of eye wrinkling and eye bag, so was curious about that. Thanks for answering my question. I am not wearing glasses, so I shall take your suggestion to go hunt for some eye cream with spf. ^^ It's okay about the review, take your time. :)
