  • Berjaya Times Square Season To Dazzle & Special Effects Lesson by SUB International

    12.30.2012

Sub International School of Beauty & Make Up

I wish December weren't over yet. There's just so much things to do and review! I don't have time for it all. Before 2012 ends, I want to share about the really cool make up workshop I attended last month before I went to Bangkok for a week. It was held in Berjaya Times Square, on the upper floors of the shopping mall. I didn't even know there's a make up school here. The event was to launch the Berjaya Times Square Season to Dazzle Christmas campaign where shoppers who spend a certain amount get to redeem beauty products and free makeovers by SUB International. After the beauty makeover, you can pose at the special Christmas corner to take a picture of yourself and upload online to participate in the Dazzle & Win contest.

Dazzle & Win contest to win prizes!
    26th Nov - 26th Dec, 2012

As time was running late, I could not do the makeover *sad* but I did take a quick photo of myself and joined the contest before it ends! I don't think I will win because the judging is based on your dress up and overall look. Anyway you can check the contest page here and the prizes.

back to SUB, so many cool things here!!!

    very Brooklyn like concept store

     cute make up cases

clothes, candles, make up accessories can be found here

It was kinda unique having to attend a Christmas launch by joining a make up workshop at SUB. It wasn't just the typical make up workshop I go to because today...for the first time in my life, I'm learning tips & tricks (which is real easy to do at home) to create special effects! I wish they taught us this for Halloween then I could really scare people on Facebook!!! nyah nyah nyah.

    welcome speech by Miyuki Ng

introduction to special effect make up

The workshop started with an introduction to what we will learn by Miyuki. She's a petite and cute lady who made us laugh all the way during lessons. From creating a bruised effects to making our own blood, the workshop was interesting in its own way! Luckily I took picture of the white board so I can remember how to create my own effects for next Halloween. All we need was a few items...

tepung ubi kayu, red coloring powder, water, gum & water!
(also a bowl & a brush for mixing)

     cool effects taught that day

     how to create blood effects

just mix water, starch & red coloring powder

     learning to create burn effects

and heavy burn effects using cotton

bullet holes by using cotton (make a circle)

most awesome of all, the suicide effects

useful for drama acts, but scary!

     Miyuki demonstrates the finishing look

Crazy cool right? which effects do you think is the coolest? I think we can also google online to find more effects to do at home. After the workshop, we had Christmas drinks at Starbucks and some light snacks. My blogger friends and I enjoyed chit chatting about the lessons. However we were all rush for time so we couldn't do the makeover :((( but I think they're all already pretty today! cept me who don't have make up on (well I have baby soft face make up on). Baby soft is a term for soft and flawless natural look. Most people think I don't wear make up, but actually I'm huge fan of BB cream and blusher haha!!! u just don't see me with eyeshadows because they irritate my eyes. Which is why I was so excited when I found the popular beauty blender at SUB for only RM15! bought it straight away.

we had fun! thanks Berjaya Times Square

bought a beauty blender RM15 from SUB

refreshments at Starbucks oh nom nom
