October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and there's just a few more days left. Now that doesn't mean we have to forget checking our breasts because October is over right? With so many campaigns going on this month to support or raise awareness about the dangers of breast cancer, I wonder which one had the most impact on us? I would say mine was from the Xixili's Love My Life 2012 project where they advocated for "BSE I have done it" campaign with a primary goal to raise awareness and to encourage women no matter how old they are to practice Breast Self Examination (BSE). There's no prevention is better than cure here, but there is early detection that will save our lives!

wore my gypsy themed bangles for the occasion

Why this event was an impact for my this month? because it was filled with topics ranging from how to take care of your breasts (wearing the correct bra), insider sharing from Dr. Azlina Firzah Abdul Aziz (Breast Care & Surgeon at Pantai Hospital), survivor experiences and a fashion show that reminded me why we should love our boobies (breast). Well the models parading in the beautiful lingerie reminded me that our breasts are our most beautiful assets that we should cherish for as long as it takes.

we were asked which shape was the best
(I answered lemon, which is wrong!)

the best shape is actually orange

Do check the video interview by Dr.Azizah taken by Zafi on how to do a breast examination. I was very taken in by Dr.Azizah's informative speech about breast cancer. She's engaging, truthful,  and professional in handling the questions and session. She showed a few photos during her presentation which scares me. Obviously photos of breast cancer. An interesting part of her talk was where some of her patients approached her for a mastectomy.

Mastectomy is the medical term for the surgical removal of one or both breasts, partially or completely. Mastectomy is usually done to treat breast cancer; in some cases, women and some men believed to be at high risk of breast cancer have the operationprophylactically, that is, to prevent cancer rather than treat it. It is also the medical procedure carried out to remove breast cancer tissue in males. - wikipedia

For patients with high risk of breast cancer, some do choose to have their breasts surgically remove early and go through breast implants as an alternative. Imagine if we could remove our breasts now and remodel 36D and reduce the risk of breast cancer.
